These are the standard terms that apply when you engage Areti for occupational therapy services.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the relationship between you (the "Client") and Areti Occupational Therapy ("Areti", "we", "us"), a mobile occupational therapy practice based in Helensvale, Queensland, operated by Kate Giltrap, AHPRA-registered occupational therapist. By engaging Areti for occupational therapy services, you agree to these Terms.
Areti provides in-home occupational therapy services across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, including assessment, equipment prescription, home modification recommendations, reports and ongoing therapy. The nature and scope of services for each client will be agreed in writing or via email at the start of the engagement.
Appointments are scheduled by mutual agreement, typically between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday. We will confirm appointments by phone or email in advance. Please ensure that you (or the person being seen) is available at the agreed time, and that the environment is reasonably safe and accessible for both parties. We reserve the right to terminate a session early if we have a reasonable concern for our safety.
Our fees are aligned with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits applicable at the time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. A current schedule of fees is available on request. Fees may include:
Invoices are issued promptly after the service is provided and are payable within 14 days, unless funded through an NDIS plan manager, Home Care Package provider or other funding arrangement.
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or "no-shows", may be charged at the full session rate in accordance with NDIS Pricing Arrangements where applicable. We understand that occasional unavoidable cancellations happen and these will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Areti works with self and plan-managed NDIS participants, Home Care Package recipients, privately funded clients and clients referred through care providers. The client (or their nominated representative) is responsible for ensuring sufficient funding is available before services commence. Where funding is rejected, exhausted or withdrawn, the client may become personally liable for outstanding fees.
We maintain clinical records in accordance with our professional, legal and privacy obligations (see our Privacy Policy). Reports prepared by Areti remain the intellectual property of Areti but a copy is provided to the client and, with consent, to nominated third parties such as support coordinators or funding bodies.
We aim to respond to phone calls, voicemails and emails within one business day. For urgent clinical matters, please contact your GP or, in an emergency, dial 000. Areti does not provide an after-hours or crisis service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the resupply of the relevant service or the cost of resupplying it. This clause does not affect any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
Kate Giltrap is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and bound by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia's Code of Conduct. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of your care, please raise your concerns with us directly so we have the opportunity to address them. If your concerns are not resolved to your satisfaction, you may contact AHPRA at ahpra.gov.au.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
